Sheffield-based melodic hardcore group, The Legacy, have a great new album — Beyond Hurt, Beyond Hell — and crackling Playlist to spruik.
Nirvana / Aneurysm
An extremely important band to everyone in The Legacy, and a song we have been meaning to cover for a long time. Hopefully one night we’ll get to jam this one out on stage. I don’t know what else you can say about one of the most influential bands in the history of music.
The Lost Prophets / A Town Called Hypocrisy
This is a classic song that always seems to come out when we’re on tour. This is their best song off their last record, by far. As our label buddies, they could do with our help promoting them, too.
Shelter / Here We Go Again
This song is the feel good song of a lifetime. It reminds me of touring and good friends. Shelter are an amazing hardcore band that you can actually sing along to. And you will, until your lungs stop working. A Legacy favourite all round.
The Sounds / Night After Night (Alternative version)
Just because you play in a ‘heavy’ band doesn’t mean you can’t spin some pop music in the van. This reminds me of being on tour in Europe, and especially my friends in Scandinavia. It’s an amazing song from an amazing Swedish pop band.
AFI / A Single Second
AFI is the reason I play in a band. I’ve been trying to convince the rest of the band to cover it for a while, but I don’t think it’s working out, much to my disappointment. This song means a lot to me, and the band even more.
Killing The Dream / Fractures
These guys are our friends from over the pond and are one of the best hardcore bands around today because they offer something a bit new. This has to be their best song to date, and I cannot wait to see them play this on tour every day in January. If you like hard, relentless hardcore with a good melody on top, you will love this.
Gold Kids / Island Disease
Our best friends from Italy. It would be a crime to make a Playlist and not put these guys on it. This song is a killer, with amazing guitars and real powerful vocals. I think everyone can find something in this song that they would like. Gold Kids are one of the best bands in Europe right now.
Your Demise / Diamonds Are Forever
Another bunch of awesome dudes, but the music speaks for itself. We toured with them a couple of times in the past and we played a lot of shows together. I remember us making them play the intro to this song twice in Brighton because it’s that good.

Interesting playlist. Can we have some more hardcore please? Maybe by Ignite or Aussie favourites Parkway Drive?
