Michegan’s Tally Hall feature colour coordinated members and create a subtle blend of 1960s pop harmonies mixed amongst more barnstorming garage rock sensibilities.

Michael Jackson / Beat It
I loved Michael Jackson in my childhood. I remember when I bought Thriller and Dangerous on cassette. Now I go back and I can’t resist his grooves. Also, it’s tough to match that Van Halen solo.

Ratatat / Falcon Jab
There are some great sounds on their albums and each song usually has a nice hook. Beware though, no singing.

Fleet Foxes / Tiger Mountain Peasant Song
They turn busy subway rides into peaceful breaks. It took me a few listen-throughs to get into this album, but I’m amazed at how I’m still not tired of their sound.

Coldplay / Til Kingdom Come
Although I’m a fan of Coldplay, I generally disliked their album X & Y and don’t regularly revisit most of the tracks. But this is a really simple song that I come back to often.

The Zombies / Care of Cell 44
It’s hard to say anything new or meaningful here. Listen to it if you haven’t. This is Elliot Smith’s cover of it.

Demetri Martin / Some Jokes
I started watching his Comedy Central show and it’s pretty solid. His CD is pretty good too. What a witty guy. I also recently found out he’s older than you might think. Almost 35!

Justin Timberlake / My Love
Considering N Sync made him a household name, it really seems like he’s winning at life these days. Good Job, man. Although, I kind of miss Aaliyah. He’s kind of like her replacement. Hmm, I’ll admit this theory is in its developing stages.

LCD Soundsystem / Get Innocuous
It could have been a lot of other tracks from this album. If you get into the zone, the places they take you are really interesting. There is always something for your ear to follow.
