Folk-pop outfit Joker’s Daughter features the talents of singer-songwriter Helena Costas and genre-hopping producer, Danger Mouse. Their debut album, Last Laugh, was released earlier this year.

I love the lyrics to this and, in fact, the whole album it comes from: Transformer. It’s very clever and very funny.
Marc Bolan and T-Rex / Cosmic Dancer
I love listening to this when I am putting my make-up on. It gives me the image of dancing out into the world. Very cosmic and sweet.
Nico / Valley of the Kings
It’s medieval, weird, surreal, dark and wonderful. I love how unique this is, as well the ambiance of the track.
The Beatles / Blackbird
One of my all time favorite Beatles song. It gives me the picture of sitting in a garden in the sun listening to the birds and talking to the crows.
The Doors / LA Woman
This is my sitting by the pool, or the sea, song. So I need several doses of this when the weather is a bit grey over here. Also, it’s one of my favorite driving songs.
Iron Maiden / Infinite Dreams
This is what I am listening to in my car at the moment. The Seventh Son album is great driving material to sing along to. It always gives me the image of knights riding on galloping horses. Amazing vocals and brilliant guitar harmonies.
