Sean Ray, aka Snob Scrilla, knows what it takes to be an MC in the 21st Century. He fuses socially conscious lyricism with up-beat late 80s finesse and caps it all off with a distinctly indie sensibility. It’s reflected in his latest single, Chasing Ghosts, which has been creating a radio hurricane.

Tokyo Police Club / Citizens of Tomorrow
Brilliant mash out rawness that I never get tired of hearing. The grittiness of the guitar combined with the sci-fi doom and gloom lyrics keep it on high rotation for me.

Andre 3000 / Pink n’ Blue
This is my all-time favorite track. I love the left-field subject matter, off-kilter delivery, and synthy laidback vibe. I also love that it felt like hearing Andre kick game how he always wanted to for the first time.

Stellar MC & Bass Kleph / Spend My Money
Cause the track is dope, it’s true to me and I like hearing my girl’s voice when I’m not around

The Knife / Pass This On
I’m obviously a huge fan of left-field artists and even more so of incorporating those inspirations into my own music. This song is one of those inspirations. The vocals sound ridiculously treated but still work and the steel drums sound out of place but would be missed if they were gone.

Mr Hudson feat. Kanye West / Supernova
This is a brand new one I just got onto and it’s my favorite song of the month. I love the direction the Kanye has been taking with his production and music and this track is where Mr Hudson takes the lead role further and builds on that emotive synth and 808 sound that set a new creative benchmark for pop acts last year.

Kid Cudi feat Wale / Look Up In Da Stars
This is pretty much a follow up to the last track, again incorporating space synth pads (which I love), Wale (who I love), and Kid Cudi (who I love to hate). Whether it’s love or hate that wins in the end, I’m still currently captivated by this track.

Final Round / Cassian
Nobody has heard this track yet bar a handful of people, but it’s going to be an absolute smash. Cassian is one of the most talented producers establishing himself in Australia at the moment and this track from his upcoming EP is nothing short of brilliant!

David Dallas / Indulge Me
David is one of the most consistently underrated emcees in the industry and he has been in my top five since he dropped his first mixtape as part of the group, Frontline. This track has the capability to cross him over to the mainstream and I hope it does because beyond being one of the best rhyme spitters in the world. He’s also one of the coolest dudes I know.
