the raveonettes

If there ever was a buzz band, Danish rock n roll band The Raveonettes are it, whose sound is ‘hard-edged electric guitar overlaid with liberal doses of noise’.

Wu Tang Clan / Bring Da Ruckus
An extremely intoxicating song, RZA’s production is awe-inspiring and real. I can still listen to this song over and over and over again. I firmly believe RZA could produce a genius Raveonettes album.

Frederic Chopin / Prelude In E Minor
The emotional simplicity of this piece is breathtaking. My life, and life around me, stops every time I hear this piece and I’m stunned and perplexed all at once. As soon as I get my hands on a real piano, this is the first tune I’ll learn to play.

Francoise Hardy / Tous Les Garcons Et Les Filles
What can I say? I’m in love with her and her beauty is beyond compare. Her voice is angelic and her songwriting skills unbelievable. This song is so full of innocence and sweetness, and the video where she walks down the street singing, is one of the best videos ever made.

Rihanna / Umbrella
What a cool beat! I love Rihanna’s voice and this song is showing her at her very best. I still have not danced to this song, but I know I can invent a few cool moves, that’s for sure.

Billy Idol / Dancing With Myself
This is pure pop perfection. I can’t say anything bad about this tune: it rocks and evokes restless feelings in me. It’s such a perfect dance song and will put a smile on everybody’s face, including my own. I never thought pop music could be so damn cool.

The Cure / A Forest
So inspiring. Robert Smith is a genius songwriter and his guitar playing is so underrated. I love his voice on this one, it’s so haunting and ethereal. It just gets me every time. What a perfect band.

The Cramps / Goo Goo Muck
R.I.P Lux Interior, you ruled the world and we listened in awe as you sang your soul out and entertained us until the very end. Poison Ivy’s guitar playing is super sharp, and if there ever was a hot/cool guitarist, she’s it. All my eternal love to The Cramps.

The Shirelles / Will You Love Me Tomorrow
Hands down the best song ever written! I’m blown away every time I hear it, and still can’t fathom that such a perfect song exists. Everyone who grew up with Dirty Dancing (R.I.P. Patrick Swayze) will still be transported back to the age of innocence through this timeless classic.
