crimea x

Crimea X is the coming together of two offbeat, disparate characters, DJ Rocca (Ajello, Super Sonic Lovers, Maffia Sound System) and Jukka Reverberi from 90s Italian glam cult rockers, Giardini di Mirò, who have often have been compared with the sound of Mogwai, Arab Strap, and Godspeed You! Black Emperor.

The Smiths / Ask
I saw them playing live on Italian TV. It was during the 80s when I was extremely young, and I’ve never stopped listening to this song.

New Order / Ceremony
I say Ceremony, but I could list millions of their songs. Their melodies are killer. I’ve never stopped listening to them.

Slowdive / Alison
Alison is one of my favourite song ever. Dreamy guitars, space feedback and doped out vocals ruled my early musical experience. I always tried to play my guitar in the same way.

Fugazi / Waiting Room
I was a punk, totally. Fugazi were my Gang Of Four. They talk about politics, emotion, and feelings in their songs. But they also had a strong new wave element.

Dinosaur L / Go Bang
One of the first tracks I heard in a club. I was a teenager and I used to go into some underground clubs. This was like a kick in the ass, and in my brain. Perfect disco.

Can / And More
I used to listen to it in some Baldelli tapes from the Cosmic Club, but it was played at the wrong speed. So heavy, with lots of percussion, it’s also very atmospheric and deep. This was my open door to the Can world.

Tangerine Dream / Kiew Mission
Mountains of synthesizers and fantastic female speech in the Russian language. I’m a big fan of Tangerine Dream, every record is a gem. But this track has so much energy and is definitely ahead of its time.

Manuel Goettsching / E2E4
I bought this record many years ago, when I was teen. And this remains a classic in my record collection. Drum machines, melancholy … the ingredients for a perfect suite!
