The new Creed album, Full Circle, is the band’s first album of new material since the release of Weathered in November 2001.

Filter / Take A Picture
This song came out in early 2000 and was one of many great songs off the album Title Of Record. In 2005, my close friends and I began to take annual trips throughout Florida and realized this song was being played repeatedly on our iPods. It became an anthem for this annual trip. Listening to it now reminds me of many of the great times we’ve had so far and many more great times to come.

Chuck Mangione / Feels So Good
So I come home late one night and see an advertisement for the Time Life series: Soft Rock Classics. It’s a ten disc compilation of many songs from the late 70s to the late 80s. Songs that reminded me of growing up in north Florida. After watching the ad for five minutes, I impulsively order this series. There are many great songs from this set that would qualify as guilty pleasures but this one in particular stands out. It’s an instrumental that features trumpet as the lead. My father plays trumpet so I was forced to listen to this as a kid. What I didn’t realize until recently was the quality of musicianship on this track. Not just the trumpet, but everything from the rhythm section to one of the best guitar solos I’ve ever heard!

Opeth / Deliverance
This is probably one of the longest songs I’ve ever heard but is also one of the most intense. We had the pleasure of sharing the stage with them at several European festivals in 2006. They had a 30 to 40 minute set but were only able to play three songs because of the length of each song. Deliverance was the song that closed their set and it really caught my attention. A very moody song with lots of peaks and valleys. The ending is just about as intense as you can get.

Bee Gees / Night Fever
What can I say? It’s just a cool groove that makes you want to get up and dance (which I don’t do unless fueled by a bit of vodka!) So maybe it’s not cool to admit to liking the Bee Gees, but let’s face it, they wrote some pretty big tunes.

Sevendust / Crucified
We’ve been great friends with this band for over a decade but I’ve been a huge fan for even longer. They’ve written many great songs and it was hard to choose just one. This song plain and simply just kicks ass. Massive riffs, huge drums, and soaring vocals make this song a “must play” every time my iPod turns on.

Zero 7 / Destiny
This is pretty much the opposite of everything else I’ve listed. It’s a very relaxing song that’s driven heavily by keyboards and acoustic guitar. Sia is the vocalist on this track and her voice is as soothing as it gets. Always seems to go well with a vacation sunset (or sunrise, depending on the night I’ve had!)

Justin Timberlake / My Love
Say what you want but this guy can write friggin’ hits. This is definitely a guilty pleasure but always seems to make it’s way into my playlist at a Phillips hosted party. The guys may not be overjoyed when it first comes on, but the ladies never hesitate to hit the dance floor, which in turn makes the guys happy. Thanks JT!

Lamb Of God / The Faded Line
This song is the very definition of bad ass! Brutal guitars, screeching vocals, and probably one of the most vicious drum patterns I’ve ever heard. A “must listen” when I need a shot of adrenaline or just want to rock.
