shout out louds

The Shout Out Louds are working on a new album, titled Work, and the first single off it is called Walls. The band is have been oled up in a Seattle studio with Phil Ek (Fleet Foxes, The Shins, Modest Mouse).

Bob Dylan / She Belongs To Me
Great lyrics. A different kind of  love song. A portrait.

Modern Lovers / Roadrunner
A great nerve. So perfectly stupid. The way a rock ‘n roll song should be.

Talking Heads / This Must Be The Place
The lyrics are hidden a little bit under such a great production, but it’s one of my favorite lyrics. A great love song.

Joy Division / Love Will Tear Us Apart
Pure perfection. It runs you over like a train. Every instrument is important.

Prince / I Would Die 4 U
So simple but such a great production.

Robert Wyatt / Shipbuilding
A bit better version than Elvis Costello’s. Robert’s voice is so historical. A very timeless melody.

Rolling Stones / Under My Thumb
The first song I played with my band when I was 13 years old. Marimba and backbeat guitars can’t go wrong.

Velvet Underground / I’m Waiting For The Man
Such an influential song. A song I go back to a lot.
